Facebook ads are an amazing way to generate a predictable and consistent flow of new leads and potential clients. The reality is the average consumer sees approximately two million social media ads every single year. So how in the world am I getting my ads to perform above the industry averages? It's not magic or a secret relationship with Mark Z (aka the Facebook megalord). In fact, it's quite the opposite. It is all strategy, data analysis, and deep, deep market research.
And here are the exact steps I follow to launch kick-ass ads!
I perform extensive research on my ideal client avatar or client persona. And I do this research pretty often. In fact, I dedicate at least two full hours per week just to perform market research. I find the best research actually comes from unexpected sources including Reddit, Sitejabber, and just plain old Facebook groups. My research process has saved my clients and me a dozen hours and thousands of dollars!
Any advertisement, either online or offline has a dozen different variables. So the challenge becomes: "what is actually working and what is just in the background as noise?" A question I can easily answer by performing variable tests early and often. I constantly am testing new variables for my own ads. Sometimes, I'll even re-test variables that didn't do well to see if my audiences ideas and interests have changed. This is something that VERY FEW ads managers are actually doing. In fact, typically about $1,000 is required for testing before any changes can be made which is highly inefficient. That's why my process is helping me outperform industry standards.
Creative is extremely important for Facebook ads. It has to be disruptive enough that it is ultimately thumb-stopping. BUT it also has to resonate with your target audience. If it does one without the other, that is where the inefficiencies come in. So here's how I fix it. First, I determine what type of creative resonates with my audience. For me, it's always reels. But your audience might like static photos or long-form video. Second, I ensure my creative embodies the emotion that is most important. Now, this emotion is what the ideal client feels AFTER using my product or service not before. This can look like empowerment, confidence, freedom, and the like! Finally, I run tests on my creative as often as possible!
Overall, my results are ass-kicking because I have a strategy in place. This strategy extends well beyond just throwing some variables together and hoping for the best. Instead, my strategy starts with data and ends with amazing results.
